A few ideas how to use extruded fonts in web-to-print and dynamic imaging designs.

Before you start

• Add a page frame (Layout/Page Setup/Add Page Frame). This will create a rectangular shape with the exact same size as the paper size of your template and place it as a bottom layer.
• Input your dummy text and turn it into a variable web-to-print field.

In a nutshell, we’re going to achieve a simple 3D effect on the text frame by adding an Extrusion and a Contour to it.

Extrusion

Select the dummy text frame, activate CorelDRAW Extrusion tool from the toolbox menu on the left and click n’ drag over the text frame with it.

Click on Color icon in extrusion properties bar, activate Color shading option and chose From and To colors for the extrusion.

Note. You can avoid the unwanted pixelation issues, notorious for CorelDRAW Extrusion tool by using Blending as an alternative to Extrusions.

Contour

Select the dummy text frame, activate CorelDRAW’s Contour tool and use these settings.

The result should be similar to this web-to-print design.
