Fractured glass
Create the illusion like a piece of glass is being shattered on top of the text in your design. Break your web to print template to pieces with the help of this cool technique.
Before you start
- Add a page frame (Layout/Page Setup/Add Page Frame). This will create a rectangular shape with the exact same size as the paper size of your template and place it as a bottom layer.
- Create one artistic text frame and turn it into a variable web-to-print field called Text.

In a nutshell, we will take a copy of the dummy text and PowerClip a larger version of it inside a group of abstract shapes that resemble broken pieces of glass.
Broken glass
Draw shapes
Lets start of by drawing a few abstract random shapes that will be the glass pieces.

Use the Polyline tool or any other tool that can do the job.

Fountain fill
Select all the shapes with the Pick tool and click the Combine or Weld icon in the top menu to convert them all into a single curve.
Add some custom Fountain fill to them. As a reference, use these settings for the gradient.

Extrude
/

Select the Extrude tool, click on the shapes and drag.

In the top settings bar, click on the Bevels icon and activate the Use Bevel and Show Bevel Only check boxes.

Next, we need to separate the bevel group from the shapes since it will be static and we only need the shape between the beveled edges as a PowerClip container.

Right-click on the Bevel group of the object in the Object Manager and click Break Bevel Group Apart (Ctrl+K).

The outcome should be a group of curves. Ungroup the shapes (Ctrl+U) and you should end up with:
- the bevel edges,
- the shape between the edges that will be the PowerClip container,
- the shape that outlines both (You can delete this one since we don’t need it).
Crop
Group the bevel edges curves and place them inside a transparent (No Fill) copy of the background shape as a PowerClip. This is a fast way to crop the shapes.
To crop the shape that we’ll use as the PowerClip container, select it along with the background shape and click on the Intersect icon in the top bar.

Keep the intersected copy and delete the original. The result should be similar to this.
Dummy text

Assign a Fountain fill to the dummy text similar to the one you used for the broken glass shapes earlier. A small outline might also help to make the text more readable.

Copy the dummy text, set a larger font size to it and place the copy inside the broken glass shapes curve as a PowerClip (Effects/PowerClip/Place Inside Container).

Transparency
Activate CorelDRAW’s Transparency Tool and set a small 13% Uniform transparency to the PowerClip and a 50% transparency to the dummy text inside it.

The result should be similar to this.
Final touch
Add a few random bling stars at the highlight points of the broken glass. Learn how to create the blings.
